Globally There are more slaves today than at any time in human history. An estimated 27 million men, women, and children are living in bondage. In 2007, slave traders made more profit than Google, Nike, and Starbucks combined.

There are over one million new people trafficked annually.
80% are women and 60% are children.
Every minute two children become victims of human trafficking.
The average life span of a child caught in the sex slave trade is two years.
They are either beaten to death, contract HIV/AIDS, contract bacterial meningitis, or overdose on drugs forced on them.
United States

The U.S. Department of Justice estimates 100,000 to 300,000 American kids under 18 are involved in prostitution and often targeted by sexual predators annually. According to the FBI, the average age of a child sexually exploited is 11. The average age of entry for a girl into prostitution is 13, for a boy 12.

The U.S. cities where human trafficking is worst are: Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Las Vegas, San Diego, San Francisco, St. Louis, Tampa, and Washington, DC.

Europe

Annually 600,000 – 800,000 men, women and children are trafficked across international borders. Of these, 70% are women and 50% are children. The majority of these are forced into the commercial sex trade.

Each year approximately 117,000 Ukrainians are trafficked. The majority of the victims are women and children. Most women fall victim through phony job offers and are later forced into prostitution. Most orphans fall victim because of the lack of protection and oversight of these children as they leave state institutions.

Russia is a major source of women trafficked globally for sexual exploitation. It is estimated that 500,000 women from Central and Eastern Europe are involved in prostitution in Europe alone.

ok so not many of you know but my granny is a bitch like demon whore from hell bitch no joke me and my sister call her the wicked witch of the north

and i recieved a cheque from her for christmas and i know i should have been all yay money but no i was like what dafuq so after a few hours of stewing i wrote her a letter (that explained how i felt about the terrible way she has treated my family (she called my mum dirt and then said that everything that came from her was dirt she also never really gave a damn about us as we were growing up and she insulted several members of my family) and that i couldnt accept the money she had given me unless it was a peace offering and a way for us to start afresh and have a REAL relationship) and then a few days ago i posted it through her door along with the cheque

and well i am a stubborn bitch and i couldnt wait for a reply and i went to her house tonight as i wanted it all sorted before entering the new year

she wasnt going to let me in and also was going to send my letter to “abuse of the elderly” i had people proof read it there was nothing abusive in it after a second draft and she made me call her granny not her name i have always called her her effing name and hug her

she then procceded to lie to me about my family but i couldnt call her out on the lies as i wasnt supposed to know anything because i had been listening in on phone calls with permission from the other party just not her

she also put me down because i have tattoos oh and because of the church i go to ( i know i dont come off very christiany but i dont care God knows what im like ) then she had the audacity to tell me how she wasnt proud of me when i opened up to the heartless whench and told her i havent made myself sick in 19 months or self harmed in 4 months she said she was ashamed of me for doing that

she also forgot that im severly depressed and i sought advice from her about depression as she used to suffer from it and she was just like get over it seriously who does that? >.< so angry any advice would be sooooo appreciated
